About this blog:

A semi-random collection of pictures of various things in various places at various times - updated daily unless & until I run out of material...

All shots are taken by me and almost all with a Canon Powershot G9. As yet, I have no extra equipment or lenses to go with the camera, but I'm hoping this will change soon...

This is my main blog. For my art 'swaps', see:
here

About Quango-Bingo:

This is a simple game played by two or more people where words or phrases are 'traded' in turn by players.

Rules:

- All words/ phrases must have two syllables
- The second syllable must be an 'o' sound
- Repetition and hesitation are not allowed

For such a simple game, it can get quite tricky - especially if a lot of people are involved.

Ode to the toad

It seems only right, as I started with this little guy (and him being the point of the whole trip), that I end the series with the rest of the photoshoot.

Thank you Mr Toad. You were great.

Ps: I should also point out that, while the majority of the shots I’ve posted recently were from Wyming Brook, a few of them (these included) were actually taken elsewhere later that day. See tags for more accurate geographical location data.

A brief trip to outer space
Taking a break from the Wyming Brook series to take you to an alien planet I visited recently ;)

Did somebody say moss?

I offer these to anyone who is in need of a little green, a touch of lush and a truck-load of nature in miniature.

The texture and the shape

This post is dedicated to all you wonderful people who have welcomed me back after my break. I have been through all your (many!) comments and they have made me feel so loved. You guys are all so very ace.

Thank you.

1 inch forest
One of the tiny worlds mentioned in my previous post.
I’ve decided to try to post more frequently so that I can get to the photos I took in France before the whole thing gets too distant. That said, there are a lot of shots from the Wyming Brook series…

Moss in the valley
More from my trip down Wyming Brook valley with Mr W. There was moss galore and a million tiny worlds to explore, but the most magical thing was the noise of the water constantly babbling and splashing away as we walked.

Lightbox Leaves

The moment of joy when - after trying (and failing) to find good light to photograph a leaf - you decide to hold it in front of the lens and point it at the sun.

Same time, same place (same toad!)
A couple of weeks ago, I went for a walk with the charming Mr W. Our mission was to find a toad. As you can see, we were successful! We visited a few places before finally completed our quest with a lovely photoshoot.
This was one of my favourites. Mr W’s can be found here.
Watch this space (and this one) for more!
