About this blog:

A semi-random collection of pictures of various things in various places at various times - updated daily unless & until I run out of material...

All shots are taken by me and almost all with a Canon Powershot G9. As yet, I have no extra equipment or lenses to go with the camera, but I'm hoping this will change soon...

This is my main blog. For my art 'swaps', see:

About Quango-Bingo:

This is a simple game played by two or more people where words or phrases are 'traded' in turn by players.

Rules:

- All words/ phrases must have two syllables
- The second syllable must be an 'o' sound
- Repetition and hesitation are not allowed

For such a simple game, it can get quite tricky - especially if a lot of people are involved.

Quango-Bingo Travels: France, March 2012 - Day 3 (continued): Snake Eyes!

I remember once, when I was a very young Quango-Bingo, we visited family in Germany. It was the Summer time and we went to a lake for a swim. In the reeds, my uncle (let’s call hum Uncle Awesome) found and caught about 5 baby grass snakes.

He brought them back in a sandwich tin so that we could all get a better view. They were tiny, thin, very lively and absolutely fascinating. I was in awe of their beauty.

Since then, I have never again seen a snake in the wild. This despite always looking out for them and occasionally finding old snake skins whilst out and about.

One day I will, but until then, I will have to be content with going to see them in such places as the lovely Ile aux Serpents.

Of course, the main attraction at the Ile aux Serpents are the… well, the serpents!

I will let them speak for themselves.
